Oldenburg Merlot from Stellenbosch in South Africa, this Merlot shows enticing aromas of pine forest, macerated berries, jasmine and green peppercorns, unfolding into flavors of vanilla pods, dark chocolate, red cherries and loganberries with a touch of tomato leaf. The palate is bold and layered with brambles, cloves and pine nuts, supported by fine tannins and lively acidity for excellent balance and length. Sits at 14% ABV and contains sulfites.
Food pairings: excellent with grilled lamb, beef stew, roast pork or aged cheddar
