HARTENBERG Merlot

Hartenberg Estate Merlot, Stellenbosch, South Africa. Deep ruby red in color, this Merlot opens with a smoky nose of red fruits, liquorice and subtle oak spice from 18 months in French oak. The palate is silky smooth with structure, fine tannins, offering layers of tart cherries, plum, vanilla and a gentle savory undertone, balanced by fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish. Sits at 14.5% ABV and contains sulfites.

Food pairings: complements roasted lamb, beef burgers with cheddar, mushroom pasta, and hearty stews.
