Once the party king of Malawi (or indeed the world), Mike has since changed his love of Jager for a Jeroboam and whilst he hasn’t slowed down on the tasting front, he has swapped quantity for quality. Having seen a gap in the market upon returning to Malawi during COVID, he decided to take action and supply Malawi with the fine wines he had gotten used to on his travels, at a much better price point. With the slower pace of life 2020 has provided us with, he got into his birding and sundowners and so Wines & Wings was born. A mix of his love of travel, birding, his Wines & Wings Guesthouse and fine wine tastings, he is in charge of selecting what is brought in and of course negotiating the best possible deals! He is the man to ask when pairing wines to your personality!

Mike has many favourites but is a HUGE fan of Idiom and their Italian, Argentinian and French style wines, Remhoogte, Ataraxia, Beaumont, Benguela Cove and Thelema are a few of his favourite brands. One may say that, just like a good wine, Mike has matured over the years and he has recently been collecting some really special bottles for his own collections, choosing to celebrate the finer moments in life with something equal in quality.
