The Homestead offers a luxury villa in the secluded and tranquil Oldenburg vineyard. The modern Cape Dutch style villa still retains an air of its 200-year history with pristine gardens, olive groves and vineyards. With large verandas and a swimming pool, private gym and multiple entertainment areas inside and out it is the perfect place for a group of friends to explore the winelands. You can enjoy relaxing in the tasting room with its gorgeous views of the vineyards designed by the well-known architect Simon Beerstecher. Here you can sample their famous wines along with a cheese platter as you soak in the views and soak up the flavours.

What an extraordinarily beautiful setting.  Surrounded by an amphitheatre of impressive mountains, this exquisite and luxurious villa is second to none. A special place to spend a Christmas with family or a summertime holiday with close friends, you won’t want to leave this place. We had the most wonderful experience here and everyone genuinely treated us like close friends and family. We were spoiled to the most stunning braai evening with outstanding food prepared by their talented chef, and of course the treasures of their vineyards complimenting the evening and food so perfectly. I wish we could visit here every year.

Wine and the tasting room

Inspired by the surrounding beauty the Tasting Room is a serene space you can enjoy all that Oldenburg Vineyards has to offer. With picturesque vistas and warm welcoming staff you can enjoy the finest wines at your leisure and learn the stories behind the vineyard. There are several tastings you can do of the different lines, the same lines through the ages or the vintages. Or if you are enjoying what you taste you can do all 3!

The Story behind Oldenburg

The history and culture of Oldenburg is a charming tale dating back over 200 years. The Homestead is the original family home and staying in the house gives a unique insight into the family space and connect with the farm and the vineyards. The valley has a slightly cooler climate than neighbouring sites and they split the wine 60:40 red to white. In 2003 Adrian Vanderspuy revitalised the area and estate, as a local man he knew the potential the land had and returned it to its former glory. The wine has gone strength to strength and are absolutely delicious, even if we do say so ourselves!

All year round.
